on the way to dongbei, i changed from a D train (dong che, superfast) to a T train (te kuai, very fast), the to a K train (kuai, fast) and finally to a 4-digit train without any letters. the 700km from beijing to shenyang took about 4 hours, the 200km from shenyang to meihekuo took another 4 hours, and then the last 100km to a little village near tonghua took another 4 hours.
